STUDENT INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY: 3:month term, starting in May 2018.

TransCanadas Real Time Systems and SCADA Engineering department is looking for Summer Interns who are willing to think about the future... and think big.

We emphasize the importance of valuable work for our Summer Interns. We are devoted to providing a learning environment where students can gain valuable skills and experiences that contribute to their future careers while also learning about TransCanadas business and culture. Successful applicants will become integral members of the department while learning within a team environment, completing meaningful tasks, and collaborating with managers on important projects. This position is a great opportunity for the candidate desiring to launch their career in the Software Engineering field.


The students responsibilities will be dependent on their team and work location. The responsibilities of the candidate will be:
:The student will learn to execute a software/IT project in a team atmosphere following proven development methodologies;
:Software development, data conversion, and data entry activities on the following projects: Environmental and RTS System Integration, Measurement Analytics;
Other tasks as required.

Education / Experience
:Must be enrolled at a recognized post:secondary institution;
:Preference will be given to 2nd or 3rd year students enrolled in a Computer Engineering or related program;
Proficiency with programming languages: C, VB.Net, Java;
Proficiency with databases: Microsoft SQL Server.

*This position may require candidates to:
:Provide an academic transcript for review;
:Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training which would involve some overnight stays away from home.

*Depending on the qualifications of the applicants, the successful candidate may be offered a position at a more appropriate level and/or ladder.
