Charleston Area Medical Center Health System, Inc. (CAMC Health System, Inc.) seeks an innovative, visionary nursing leader to assume the position of Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). This individual is charged with leading nursing practice at the system level, across the full continuum of care, providing futurist leadership for discovering new care models as we move into the future of health care. This is an extraordinary opportunity to join the only Malcolm Baldrige award winning organization in the state of West Virginia.

The new leader's strategic contributions will be key in furthering the profession of nursing as key collaborators within the entire care team, emphasizing the importance of all participants working at the top of their licenses, in conjunction with physicians. S/he will drive nursing innovation and provide oversight for the nursing shared governance model.

The CNO will be a visionary leader who exhibits a demonstrated ability to drive results, champion innovation and stimulate new thinking. S/he will be a visionary change agent who has proven experience in a leadership role within a matrixed health system, as well as experience driving cultural change. This person will have a proven track record of creating uniformity and consensus in nursing practice across the full continuum of care and creating an atmosphere of creativity, collaboration and trust. He/she will be a strong collaborator who takes ownership of challenges and outcomes, is a consensus builder with a bias to action, holds people accountable, is decisive, and is a strong partner and listener.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the CNO serves as the highest ranking nurse at the CAMC Health System and provides both strategic and operational management.

The successful candidate will have current WV nursing license, a Master's degree in Nursing, as well as ten+ years of nursing management and leadership experience. S/he will have a strong track record in managing and improving quality outcomes related to nursing and patient care delivery. The candidate must be a balanced leader, appreciating the perspectives of all members of the healthcare team and is a champion for patient quality and clinical excellence. The CNO will be a self-motivated, high performer with energy and enthusiasm for this role - and passionate about improving the practice of nursing and the delivery of safe, high-quality health care to patients.
