Entry-Level Environmental/Wetland Scientist:

TRC Environmental Corporation is soliciting applications from highly motivated, qualified individuals to fill a permanent, full-time entry-level Environmental/Wetland Scientist position with emphasis in ecological consulting, wetland and stream science and environmental documentation in our Charleston, West Virginia office. The applicant must be willing to work in the field for limited amounts of time under potentially strenuous conditions. Applicants will work as part of a team on the completion of projects as assigned, including working on larger transportation and pipeline projects. Responsibilities for this position include assisting with all natural resources investigations, including but not limited to wetland and stream delineation and assessment, threatened and endangered species survey, biological assessment, animal and plant identification; use of GPS mobile technology; data entry; writing and technical reporting; and environmental permitting.

Applicants must be able to effectively coordinate with team members, participate in field and reporting efforts; and interact well with clients and other contractors. The position will require travel and the ability to conduct site visits working as part of a field team.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assisting in field assessments, preparing technical reports, technical studies and be able to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and coordinating with regulatory agencies.

* Coordinate activities and work products with other staff resources and offices, as needed.

Have 0 to 5 years of experience in the natural resource consulting field.


* A Bachelor's degree in environmental science, natural resources, biology, ecology, or other similar environmental field is required. A Master's degree may be substituted for one year of experience.

* Excellent technical writing and communication skills are mandatory. Prior experience in preparing Wetland Delineation Reports and/or other environmental reports is preferred.

* Be willing to travel for extended periods of time.

* Possess a valid driver's license and driving record acceptable to TRC's insurance carrier.
